For current members and alumni to get together and share their writing projects with each other, and provide support and constructive feedback. All genres welcome! (Fiction, creative fiction, poetry, mixed genre). New writers and experienced writers welcome.
Meeting Location: Estes Library, Wasson Room, upstairs
Frequency of meetings: twice per month, every other Wednesday, from 1:00pm-3:00pm
Host responsibilities:
Provide meeting structure as follows:
- Short greetings and introductions
- Ten minute writing warm-up. Prompt provided or self-directed.
- All group members may bring in a writing piece to share (up to 3 double spaced pages). The writer may request any specific constructive feedback they would like.
- Each week, we will take turns having a ‘featured writer’, who can share a longer writing piece (up to 8 double spaced pages)
- If time permits, we will end with a short free writing time, to write any new ideas that came to you.
Guest responsibilities:
Bring your own notebook and pen, and any writing piece that you would like to share.
Cost: No cost associated with this group
