Newcomers Club members make new friends when they gather to learn new skills and engage in enjoyable activities. There are daytime and evening groups; groups for singles and couples, men and women; groups that gather during the week and others that meet on weekends. If a group requires registration, it is indicated by the RSVP symbol.rsvp

Eating and Parties

Dining In - Usually 1st Saturday. Members rotate hosting small groups for dinner. rsvp

Dining Out In Estes - 4th Friday. Small groups sample local restaurants.rsvp

Lunch Bunch - 2nd Wednesday. Group meets at smaller restaurants for lunch and socializing.rsvp

Men's Breakfast - 1st Tuesday of the month at 8:30 AM. Meet for coffee & breakfast in local restaurants.rsvp

Lady's Monday Margarita Madness - Last Monday of the month, 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Margaritas and appetizers (dutch treat) at a local watering hole.rsvp

Wine and Cheese - 3rd Saturday, 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Hosted at one of our member's homes. Bring a beverage of choice for personal consumption and an appetizer to share. Club provides plates, cups, utensils, etc.

Cards and Games

Bridge - 3rd Wednesday, 1:00 PM at a member's home. Not just for beginners.

Euchre - 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, 7:15 PM, US Bank meeting room. This is an easy 4-person card game played with a trump, similar to Hearts.rsvp

Men's Poker - 2nd Thursday, 6:30 PM at a member's home.

Sheepshead - 1st Wednesday, 7:15 to 9:15 PM, US Bank meeting room. 32-card deck, 1700s German game for 2-5 people per table. Challenging, with lessons provided!

Other Activities

Bowling - Thursdays, 3:00 PM. Estes Park Recreation Center. Social bowlers, beginners to experts, singles or couples.

Computers - Possibly Saturdays at the Estes Valley Library. Topics to include computer selection, operating systems, free resources, entertainment, & MS Office software.  Other suggestions?.

Daytime Book Club - 2nd Monday, 1:00 PM in members homes. Group selects a book in advance for discussion.

Evening Book Club - 2nd Wednesday, 7:00 PM in member's homes. Group selects a book in advance for discussion.

Happy Hikers - 1st Thursday of each month, usually at 8:30 AM. Open to all newcomers, information on each month's hike appears on the website and a notice is e-mailed to all members.

Knitters/Handworkers Clan - 1st Monday, 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Knitting, tatting, spinning, or any other “hand work” of one’s own choosing mixed in with visiting  & conversation.

Motorcycle Day Trips - Anticipated at 1-2 per month, to be arranged by any of the people interested.

Movie Night in EP - Usually 4th Thursday, early evening. Group views pre-selected movie at Estes Park's Reel Mountain Theatre, followed by gathering somewhere for food & discussion led by volunteers who previewed or researched the film.

Road Bikers (bicycle) - Day and time to be determined. Individuals signing up and expressing interest will meet to determine the characteristics of the biking interest group.

Trail Ridge Quilters - Every Tuesday, 1:00 to 4:00 PM in the Longs Peak Room, EPMC. This group – founded in 1991 – creates and sells a variety of quilted items at the Elizabeth Guild Holiday House & other functions to benefit EPMC. Quilters of all skills are invited to join, including the very beginner.
